Pipeline 2007 Girls Black Update

PIPELINE Soccer Club (PSC)

It has been two weeks since I updated the Pipeline 2007 Girls Black team’s soccer journey.

Pipeline 2007 – Tough loses

The team has played four games over the two weekends. On 13 October, the girls competed against Premier SC Premier Navy 07 and on 14 October played a match against A3 Rangers. It seems I continue to parrot the same cliché lines when describing Pipeline’s matches.

The girls played well, but not well enough to win either game. Premier prevailed 2-1 and A3 dug out of a 0-2 hole to win 3-2.

This past weekend, 20 October Pipeline hosted Bethesda SC Academy White 07 girls. Pipeline went to a 2-0 lead before suffering defensive breakdowns allowing Bethesda to come back to tie the game. The game ended 2-2. This was Pipeline’s best result since the Explorer tournament.

21 October Pipeline again hosted. This time to Old Line FC 07 Pride Black. Game day was cold, temperatures in the low 50’s, but the wind made it feel much colder. The turf’s sideline and goal-line flags refused to stay standing under the gusty winds. The two teams appeared closely matched on a difficult day as the first half expired with the score 0-0.

The second half remained scoreless until Pipeline’s left wing scooted by Old Line’s right back and curled a high shot to the far post. The ball hit the post below the bar and deflected into the goal. Pipeline 1, Old Line 0. This was the final score for the game played under trying conditions.

Pipeline’s results for the two weekends is 1 win, 1 draw, and two losses.

Being positive

The Pipeline 2007 Girls Black has another challenging weekend coming up with games against two quality rivals. Hopefully, this last weekend will have started the team on a winning streak.
