The game against Olney Boys and Girls Club (OBGC) Red was the last game in the fall Central Maryland Small Sided League (CMSSL) season. The Pipeline team was 4-3 entering the game. They won the game to finish the season 5-3.
This game quickly went in Pipeline’s favor. OBGC Red lacked substitutes and Pipeline played an up-tempo game which wore their opponents down. When the last whistle blew, Pipeline had netted ten goals to OBGC none. That the difference was not larger is a testament to the Red team boys playing well even when tired.
Looking back on the season, this could have been a year where the record was 7-1. Pipeline lost the first game of the season to BUSA by a 3-1 score. The team had several new players still learning the team’s style of play.
The other loss was to Bethesda Soccer Club (BSC) Green. This game saw Bethesda scoring early, and the game stayed 1-0 through the first half. Each team scored three times in the second half. Pipeline scoring two of their three in the last ten minutes or so. The Pipeline boys were on a roll and might have gotten another score if they had a few more minutes of play.
The season is over, and the boys are looking forward the Columbus Fall Classic tournament this weekend. Go Pipeline!
