Pipeline 2008 Boys Red trekked to Muldoon’s Farm to play Bethesda Soccer Club (BSC) Green team. The two teams tied in the league standings at four wins – two losses.
Muldoon’s Farm is home turf for Bethesda SC. The fields are well-kept and a pleasure to play on. If not for the long drive, the boys would enjoy having more games scheduled to play on these pitches.
The game started on time and followed the script for many of Pipeline’s games. The ball changed sides several times before they had a shot on goal that found the corner of the net, behind Pipeline’s goalkeeper. The teams traded possessions multiple times without further scoring in the first half.
They started the second half with the ball, but didn’t possess it long before Pipeline won it away and challenged their goalkeeper. He was up for the task, making a nice save. BSC countered, but Pipeline goalkeeper made the save.
Finally, Pipeline drove one past their goalkeeper to even the score at one-one. The score remained such for only moments before BSC scored. Minutes later they scored again. The score stood at BSC three-Pipeline one until about the twenty-minute mark of the second half.
The boys knew time was running out and stepped up play. Two excellent combinations of dribbling, passing, and strong shooting saw two goals for Pipeline. The score three-three with just minutes to go.
A misplay by Pipeline opened the door for BSC to score its fourth goal. BSC led four-three. The game ended a few minutes later.
The pipeline 2008 Boys Red has one more game in this league season. Scheduled for Pipeline’s home turf against OBGC Red. Come out and cheer them on. GO PIPELINE!
